EUROPEAN PHILOSOPHY OF SCIENCE ASSOCIATION

Presidential Address

Welcome to the second EPSA Newsletter for 2016!

I would like to take the opportunity to inform you about a number of activities. First, we are in the middle of preparing EPSA17 which will take place in Exeter, UK, from 6 to 9 September 2017. The keynote speakers will be Sonja Amadae, Philip Kitcher and Margaret Morrison. We recently announced the first call for contributed papers and symposia proposals and I very much hope that many of you will participate in the conference and help making it a success.

Second, we will soon announce a call for venues for EPSA19. Please consider organizing the conference and submit a proposal.

Third, as decided at the last General Assembly, the next elections will be conducted electronically in June 2017. We will then elect a new President and four new members of the Steering Committee. A call for nominations will be announced. Please make nominations and, even better, consider running for an EPSA office yourself!

Finally, I would like to remind you to check your online access to our journal, EJPS. The proceedings of previous conferences are now also online (and free for members) available.

Please enjoy reading this newsletter. And many thanks to Raffaella Campaner and Katarzyna Paprzycka for compiling it.

Sincerely,
Stephan Hartmann
